Idyll with the sound of horses’ hooves
The first impression visitors have on seeing the pretty thatched country house in the middle of ample countryside is one of tranquil country life. However, one look at the adjacent stables and estate building shows a different reality: Here, life revolves around horses.
Elite home for show jumping horses
In November 1997, Meredith Michaels and her later-to-be husband Markus Beerbaum purchased riding facilities in Thedinghausen which belonged to the late former world champion Gerd Wiltfangs. Today at these facilities, they both run top-class tournament, training and riding stables, having gained the necessary experience to do this over many successful years in equestrian sports.
Professionals in the riding world
In 1991, Meredith Michaels came from the USA to Paul Schockemöhle’s riding stables in Mühlen to perfect her riding abilities which were already highly developed.
Later, she and Markus Beerbaum trained at the riding club’s training centre at Graf Landsberg’s estate in Balve, until their dream to own their own riding stables came true.
Living for equestrian sports
The married couple do not only run a successful business; They have also won many prizes in equestrian sports and are among the world’s best show jumpers. In 2005 alone, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum was World Cup winner in Las Vegas, team European champion and Rider of the Year, and also won the ‘Grand Prix of Aachen’ (show jumping event) and the ‘Bambi’ media award.
Top-class laundry-care performance
40 horses mean a lot of work, sweat and mountains of textiles which need to be cleaned. Riders’ clothing, horse blankets, etc. must always be clean and ready for use, and they make a wide variety of demands on wash processes and machine performance. In this discipline, Michaels & Beerbaum place their complete trust in professional Miele technology.
An international trading centre
The estate in Thedinghausen includes stables for 40 horses and 32 hectares of land which are managed by an estate manager. Thanks to excellent contacts in the USA, which Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum has been fostering intensively since her move to Germany, approximately 95% of horses sold go to the United States.
